SQLBI offers world-class training solutions for data modeling and DAX using Power BI and Analysis Services. As part of its mission to improve the productivity of model authors, SQLBI includes Tabular Editor as a tool used to complete the tasks described in their courses.
SQLBI is not involved in Tabular Editor development, nor does it receive any compensation from its sales. SQLBI provides extended trial licenses for Tabular Editor 3 because it is the best companion for the Mastering Tabular video course.
Personal Licens
If you purchase a personal, non-transferable license for the Mastering Tabular video course by SQLBI, you are eligible to a 90-day trial license for the Tabular Editor 3 Enterprise Edition.
Transferable Licens
If you purchased a transferable license for the Mastering Tabular video course by SQLBI, your company is eligible to multiple 90-day trial licenses of the Tabular Editor 3 Enterprise Edition.
Only one trial license can be active at once, and each employee can run no more than one 90-day trial period. If you want to start a new trial before an existing trial is complete, please contact the Tabular Editor licensing team.
How can I obtain my personal Tabular Editor 3 license key?
You receive the license key from SQLBI in a separate email sent by info@sqlbi.com. Check your inbox and spam folder. If you do not find it, contact info@sqlbi.com to be sent your license key in case your video course included the personal 90-day trial license of Tabular Editor 3.
How can I download and install Tabular Editor 3?

How do I activate the license in Tabular Editor 3?
The first time you run Tabular Editor 3 after installing it, you complete the activation by filling out the form displayed by Tabular Editor. It requires your license key (sent to you by SQLBI), your name, and your email address. The data entered is sent to Tabular Editor ApS. SQLBI is not involved in this process.
When does the trial period end?
Your trial license ends 90 days after its activation date. We recommend you wait until you start practicing with Tabular Editor in your training before you activate your license.
Can I use all the features of Tabular Editor during the 90 days?
Yes, the trial for the Enterprise Edition includes all the features of the product and can be used in any type of Analysis Services or Power BI data modeling scenario. If you decide to buy the product after 90 days, you can choose the edition that has only the feature you need. What happens to my existing Tabular Editor 3 subscription?
You can activate Tabular Editor 3 using the license key provided by SQLBI at any time. However, if you already have an active Tabular Editor 3 subscription, we recommend that you do not activate the 90-day trial until your existing subscription expires. You can manage your subscription renewal through your profile page when you are signed in. Alternatively, you may forward the 90-day trial license key to someone else.
How can I obtain the transferable Tabular Editor 3 license key?
The license manager at your company – aka the person in charge of assigning the transferable SQLBI video course – will receive the Tabular Editor license key from SQLBI with a separate email sent by info@sqlbi.com. The license manager should check their inbox and if the email isn’t there, contact info@sqlbi.com to be sent the license key if the transferable video course includes the 90-day trial license of Tabular Editor 3.

Each license key can be used to activate a different employee and the same license key can be reused for another employee once the 90-day trial period has expired.
