Systems Engineer at Tabular Editor
Who we are – and why you should join us
Tabular Editor is on a mission to reshape the future of data engineering. Our tools are loved by more than 50,000 users in over 110 countries, helping professionals create and optimize complex data models for Analysis Services Tabular, Fabric, and Power BI. We’re a team of 15+ people spread across Denmark, Germany, the USA, Singapore, Belgium, and Turkey – and we’re just getting started. The position can be based anywhere, with a preference for candidates in Denmark or nearby time zones.
As our Systems Engineer, you’ll work closely with our CIO and collaborate with your colleagues across the world. You’ll get autonomy, trust, and challenges that’ll stretch you, plus mentorship and career development in areas beyond coding.
Life at Tabular Editor means:
- Flexible working hours and remote options
- Regular team check-ins and monthly get-togethers with our international partners
- 1–2 travel days per month
- Collaboration with the Microsoft Power BI product team
- Opportunities to attend conferences and expand your skills
- A salary that reflects your contributions and ambition
What you'll do
Your role will start with a strong focus on hands-on development and systems engineering (70%), and over time, include tasks within governance, risk, and compliance (30%).
On a typical day, you might:
- Build and maintain tools and systems (C#, React, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, automation).
- Manage and improve cloud infrastructure (Azure) and SaaS platforms (HubSpot, Chargebee, Stripe, and more).
- Streamline onboarding and offboarding processes for employees.
- Collaborate on security, compliance, and risk projects – starting as a learner and growing into a key contributor.
- Partner with our CIO, who will mentor you on frameworks like SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR, giving you career-expanding exposure.
Who we think you are
We’re not looking for the “finished product” – we’re looking for someone eager to learn, grow, and contribute.
You’ll thrive in this role if you:
- Are a developer at heart, with experience (or strong interest) in C#, React, cloud, and DevOps.
- Are curious about security, risk, and compliance, and want to explore this path with mentorship.
- Adapt quickly as technologies and priorities change.
- Enjoy engaging with and giving back to the community.
- And if you love sharing what you learn through blogs, meetups, user groups, open-source contributions, or public speaking, that’s a huge plus.
We believe that technical skills can always be learned, and stacks evolve quickly. What matters most to us is that you have:
- Curiosity and resilience
- Personal drive to learn and adapt
- A problem-solving mindset
