Head of Innovation

Kurt Buhler is Head of Innovation at Tabular Editor, where he researches and communicates what's next for semantic models and BI — from technical best practices to agentic development. Kurt emphasizes a user-centric focus, helping data professionals cut through the noise to build robust, useful solutions that matter. Outside of his work on semantic models, Kurt runs Data Goblins, where he partners with teams to solve real-world BI challenges, translating deep technical knowledge into practical solutions that drive business value.

Before stepping into the world of data, he earned a PhD in biomedical sciences from KU Leuven, studying the genetic regulation of insulin. When he’s not wrangling data, Kurt enjoys spending time with his family and getting lost in elaborate Dungeons & Dragons campaigns.
